a) When you visit our website

When you visit our website, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to our website’s server. This information is temporarily stored in a log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until automatically deleted:

IP address of the requesting computer;
Date and time of access;
Name and URL of the retrieved file;
Referrer URL;
Browser used and in some cases your computer’s operating system;

b) When you subscribe to our newsletter

If you have expressly consented to it in accordance with Article 6(1) Sentence 1(a) of the GDPR, we use your email address to send you our regular newsletter. For subscriptions to our newsletter, we use a double opt-in. This means that after you subscribe, we send you an email to the email address you provided, asking you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your subscription, your data is blocked and deleted. In addition, we store your IP address and the time and date of your subscription and of your confirmation. The purpose of the double opt-in is to verify your subscription and inform you about any misuse of your personal data. To receive the newsletter, you only need to provide your email address, forename and surname. You can unsubscribe at any time. c) When you use our contact form

For questions of any kind, we provide a form on the website for you to contact us. You need to provide a valid email address, forename and surname so that we know who the request is from and in order to respond. Further details can be provided voluntarily. The data is transmitted in encrypted form (see under heading 8). The legal basis for the data processing for the purpose of entering into contact with you is Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR on the basis of your freely given consent. The personal data we collect for use of the contact form is automatically deleted once your request has been dealt with.

d) When you use our contact form for job applicants

We provide the option on our website for you to apply online for one of the advertised vacancies. You need to provide a valid email address, forename and surname. In addition, you can provide further information in the “Kommentar” (“Comments”) box and upload your application documents.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data in this application process is primarily Section 26 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG) in the version applicable from 25 May 2018. Your information will be kept strictly confidential. Personal data will be processed solely for the purpose of processing the application. Your documents will be processed as quickly as possible. They will not be passed on to third parties. If your application is not accepted and you do not expressly request that we delete your data, your application documents and all personal data will be deleted in accordance with the applicable law, normally six months after sending the rejection. This does not apply if deletion is prevented by law, retention is necessary for evidence purposes or you consent to a longer retention period.

We do not transfer your personal data to any third party other than for the purposes listed in the following. We only disclose your personal information to third parties if:

5. Analysis tools

c) Google Tag Manager

For reasons of transparency, we would like to point out that we use Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager does not itself collect any personal data. Tag Manager makes it easier for us to incorporate and manage our tags. Tags are small code fragments that are used, among other things, to measure traffic and visitor behaviour, track the impact of online advertising and social media channels, set up remarketing and targeting, and test and optimise websites. 6.Social media plugins and external links

7. Social media pages

We maintain fan pages on various social media platforms in order to communicate with users, customers and prospective customers and to inform them about our services. On these online platforms, the social media providers and we process your personal data.

The various information platforms provide the option of creating profiles, business pages or groups. Users can upload, share and comment on posts, photos and videos in their own profiles and on our fan pages. They can also enter into contact with each other by writing public or private messages.

Please note that your use of the available information platforms is your own responsibility and that at the present time we do not know in detail how social media providers from the United States process data. This applies in particular to the use of interactive functions (such as commenting, sharing and rating).

You can reduce the processing of your personal data when using our fan pages by logging out of or deactivating the “stay logged in” option on the social media platform concerned, deleting any cookies on your device and closing and restarting your browser. This deletes information that can be used to directly identify you. You can then make limited use of our fan pages without revealing your user name.

Contact by private or public message

On our fan pages, you can send us private and public messages (comments). If you contact us by private message, we store the data you provide in order to process your request. We will then delete your data six months after the last message. This does not apply if deletion is prevented by law, retention is necessary for evidence purposes or you consent to a longer retention period.

If you send us a public message, the data you provide is also visible to all other users. Public messages can only be deleted by the user creating them.

When you visit our website, we use the widespread secure socket layer (SSL) protocol in conjunction with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser.
